Who are Australis Seafoods and what do they need?

Australis Seafoods is a Chilean company headquartered in Puerto Varas, Los Lagos.

They are dedicated to farming, processing, and marketing the healthiest salmon products. Since 2019, Australis Seafoods has become part of Joyvio Food (China), a world leader in the modern agricultural and food industry.

Australis Seafoods was building a new processing plant in Puerto Natales to expand its production of salmon products. 

In the first stage, they need a spiral freezer to freeze Head-on-Gutted (HOG) salmon to export industrial customers, who will further process the salmon into different products. The capacity is 6000kg/h.

A Spiral Freezer of 6000kg/h for Whole Salmon

Our Solution

To provide a suitable spiral freezer that meets the customer’s demands, application engineers worked closely with the customer before providing a final solution.  

The engineering and application team devised a solution for a 6000kg/h spiral freezer for whole salmon.

V-Support Belt

Unlike the commonly designed low-tension spiral freezer, this project features a Stainless Belt of 1220mm wide, with a V-support on the belt to hold the whole salmon.

Heavy duty

The supporting structure of the spiral tower is made of open Stainless Steel channels, ensuring the strength of the whole tower with a full load of products (21 tons).

Easy cleaning

The Stainless Steel channels provide access to cleaning the corners of the tunnels, making the tunnel clean and hygienic.
