Good manufacturers of industrial freezers provide value and functionality that commercial freezers may not be able to obtain. HVAC chiller is mainly used for air conditioning, cooling for human comfort. Some commercial freezer manufacturers offer features that are standard on industrial freezers, but are available only as optional accessories to their products, and at significantly increased cost. If the buyer does not understand and understand the importance of these features, they are usually not offered.
Water and refrigeration loops.
Industrial freezershave separate water and refrigeration loops. Most commercial freezers have a separate refrigeration loop, but no separate water loop. HVAC chillers usually share a multi-loop evaporator. If the evaporator on the commercial freezer fails, the entire cooler is shut down, resulting in the entire process being shut down. In the case of a failure of a stand-alone evaporator in an industrial freezer, at least 50 per cent of the capacity is retained in the design for standby use.
Water tanks and controls.
HVAC chillers suppliers provide only chillers, often unable to provide storage tanks, pumping systems and controls. Superior industrial freezers are equipped with integral pumps, water tanks and control devices with a capacity of up to or exceeding 200 tons. The integration package reduces installation costs, provides a single source of system responsibility, and minimizes the required footprint.
Standard configuration
Industrial freezersinclude water manifolds with service valves for evaporators and condensers (water-cooled products) as standard. Most commercial freezers do not include these features and must be installed on site by the installation contractor, otherwise maintenance and repair costs are usually higher.
Condenser water regulating valve.
On industrial water-cooled chillers, including condenser water regulating valve, and pre-connected in factory piping Most commercial freezers provide condenser water regulating valves as software to be installed on site, increasing the cost of labor and materials.
Start-up and training.
Industrial Chillermanufacturers provide start-up and training for central chillers and pumping systems.
Most commercial freezer manufacturers will provide additional start-up and training costs and will focus on chillers only, not the entire system.
Other differences
HVAC chillers are usually sold through distributors or agents who do not understand your process, so they can’t hire an expensive consulting engineering firm to help you determine the best chiller capacity or configuration to meet your needs.
Industrial freezermanufacturers employ experienced and skilled application staff to guide you through the selection and installation process.
Industrial freezers are designed to operate in all weather conditions, while commercial freezers are usually idle in winter because no air conditioning is required.
Industrial Freezershave specific integrated controls that allow them to operate in hot and very cold weather conditions.
Industrial freezers can be serviced by a variety of technicians, while commercial freezers are usually limited to a particular brand of service provider.
Most industrial freezer manufacturers have support staff available for telephone consultations long after the warranty period expires, and commercial refrigerator support can be difficult and expensive once the warranty period is over.
