Heavy duty spiral freezer tested and ready to be delivered to Chile

The customer
Pesquera Camanchaca is a Chilean company, specialized in mussels, langostino lobsters and Atlantic salmon. Camanchaca is the world’s first salmon producer to earn four stars for the Global Aquaculture Alliance’s (GAA) Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) certification. Camanchaca is also a founding member of the Global Salmon Initiative (GSI), an alliance representing approximately 50% of the world’s farmed salmon production. Camanchaca is a major player in the salmon processing industry with its export to more than 50 countries, including United States, Japan, Europe, America and China/Southeast Asia.

The requirement
The customer required a new spiral freezer to increase the freezing capacity in its salmon processing plant in Tomé, Región delBiobío, Chile, after they operate salmon processing line with full load, with the continual growing demand of salmon fillets in the global market.

The solution
Square worked alongside Camanchaca to design a best spiral freezer, to fit into the limited area in the existing processing area.
Our engineering and application team tailor-made, installed and commissioned a double low tension spiral freezer with freezing capacity up to 4,750kg/h (about 2,700 pcs) for vacuum packed salmon fillets and loins.
The spiral freezer features a 30-inch wide stainless steel conveyor belt, with total length of 890m around two rotating drum of 60 tiers in total.
The freshly packed salmon fillets enter into spiral freezer at +8 degrees Celsius, and exit with temp. of -23 degrees Celsius.

The design
This project features Square’s Remote Monitor and Diagnosis System (RMDS), which allows Camanchaca and Square monitor the running status of freezer with mobile applications available with Internet connection or wireless 4G/LTE.

The customer
Productos Agropecuarios de Tehuacán, S. DE R.L. DE C.V. (PATSA) is a Mexican company specialized in chicken processing. PATSA is the first and the only company in Mexico that feeds its chickens with only 100% vegetable ingredients. Their chickens receive a completely natural diet, based on ingredients such as: corn, sorghum and soybeans.

The requirement
The customer required a new spiral freezer to increase the freezing capacity in its processing plant in Tehuacán Puebla, Mexico.
Meanwhile, they requested the plastic modular belt instead of typical metal belt, as they had compliant on their current freezer for the breakage of chicken breast due to metal edge slide.

The solution
Square worked together with PATSA to design a best spiral freezer with plastic modular conveyor.
Our engineering and application team tailor-made, installed and commissioned a single drum low tension spiral freezer with freezing capacity of 500kg/h whole chicken and chicken parts.
The spiral freezer features a 32-inch (813mm) wide plastic modular conveyor belt.

The design

Spiral Freezer with plastic modular belt has benefits of easy cleaning, provides products without marks.
MYCOM compressor and refrigeration plant with ASME certified is also working together spiral freezer for best match.

A self-stacking spiral freezer has been delivered to and installed in CP foods, the largest poultry processor in Asia. The self-stacking freezer has also equipped with CIP (clean in place) and ADF (air defrosting system). It can automatically clean the inside of the spiral freezer after each work shift, in order to keep the freezer meet the upmost hygiene standard for meat processing. The ADF blows pulses of pressurized high velocity repeatedly over the evaporator fins while the products continue to run in the freezer. The frost can not built up and the heat transfer efficiency is significantly improved. The self-stacking spiral freezer can freeze 1500 kg/hr fried chicken parts. Square Technology has been the IQF supplier to CP foods for 20 years. We have totally delivered more than 50 spiral and linear IQF freezers, refrigeration systems to more than 10 CP foods plants around China and Thailand.
